If you want to be close to everything, Chaweng is difficult to beat.
The area is particularly famous for its nightlife. Central Chaweng has a much larger selection of bars, clubs and late-night entertainment than Bophut.

A peaceful and stylish holiday with great restaurants, sunset drinks, beach time and a walkable evening atmosphere. It is especially suitable for couples, families and travellers looking for a more refined side of Koh Samui.

A lively holiday with a beautiful beach, lots of activities, shopping, beach clubs and nightlife right outside your door.
For a luxury villa holiday, however, Bophut can be particularly attractive. You get the feeling of having your own private retreat while still being close to some of Koh Samui’s best dining and evening experiences.
And if you want to experience both, they are close enough that you don’t necessarily have to choose one exclusively. Bophut is around 20 minutes from Chaweng by road, making it easy to stay in the quieter north and visit Chaweng whenever you want a livelier night.
In short: Chaweng is better for action. Bophut is better for the atmosphere.
